This is awesome!
GoToSocial on top of #NetBSD on top of #bhyve on top of #omnios

I decided to run #NetBSD on my #OmniOS machine, using #bhyve. And so far, it works.

So... I didn't get to the root on ZFS boot disk mirroring I sat down to implement, but the refactoring was needed to do it.
There's a LOT going on here but in short it's one-stop shopping for splatting #OccamBSD VM images, stock #FreeBSD images, #OmniOS, and #Debian images to disk or physical devices in an effort to never see an "installer" again in my life. And it's achieving that goal!
I may pull in the Windows support which is not the same thing, but gives the same result.
Feel free to bellyache that it's back to approaching 1000 lines of KSH, but no, I don't see how Go|Rust|Zig|Erlang|Lua would help with something that is 98% shell commands.
@anubhav @Tubsta @dexter @alelab It seems that the solution is to just use #FreeBSD or #Illumos (#OmniOS, #OmniOSCE, #SmartOS) with hardware from SuperMicro (or others) and #FreeNAS / #TrueNAS as UI and related via shell script. I believe that this is the route. The original source of FreeNAS was the #BSDrouter project (rather than a company). #Unix #ZFS #OpenZFS
I gave imagine.sh a long-overdue refactoring.

zpool rename upon import is supported, along with #Debian and #OmniOS image retrieval and expansion.
It still supports #FreeBSD, despite the headlines.
Release early/often/occasionally...
I have added #OmniOS and #Windows autounattend.xml support to the #FreeBSD *agine.sh aspects of #OccamBSD. They aren't fully unified but they're going from cousins to siblings.
I use this all the time and maybe you'll find it useful too. Please report any issues you encounter. This is... multifaceted.

The #OmniOS package servers are very slow here (Armenia). I'd like to have a local repo in AM. I have the storage and the bandwidth to support customers, but I'm having a hard time setting up a local IPS repo.
I'm planning to support only the last two core/extras repo. Will add bloody if requested.
If anyone has any docs on how to do such a setup, please let me know
I got to the point where I can do `pkgrecv` and `pkg set-publisher` locally. Now I need to expose to www and build HTML
#illumos
@timfoster Took me a while, but I did it and blogged about it! yey!
