Consolidation in big tech continues. Though now #HashiCorp and #Redhat are working under the same company. Maybe the support for on prem #Kubernetes will improve.
As I said before, #IBM is about to buy HashiCorp. None of those millions will go to the workers (who create value, build solutions, and keep things running).
And the open-source products from #HashiCorp???? Well, it's a mess and chaos, my friend. Keep idolizing Musk & Co.—that's exactly what they want: free subservience!
Open-source needs to be in foundations!!! Since the production mode steamrolls over free software, that's the only way out!!
I thought the change in licensing (and community positioning) associated with #HashiCorp around #terraform was weird and signaled bigger problems. It's not that the company suddenly opposed open source software development. They need cash. And fast. 😔
I like HashiCorp. They are one of the only alternatives to managing vast compute resources on prem or in a hybrid cloud outside of Google/AWS/Azure. I hope this work doesn't get dropped.
