Got an ISO mounted in NEXTSTEP on the NeXTstation with my new BlueSCSI v2 device. Awesome addition to the system.

Is there a way to make a #iSCSI target redundant? I'm talking about a #Linux LIO target, not a iSCSI appliance. The goal is to enable it to reboot after a sytem upgrade while keeping access to my shared #storage.

I was thinking about making a RAID1 at initiators level with 2 LUNs, but it would create more problems:

* The RAID implementation used here should be cluster-aware because the LUN is accessed by multiple initiators. This point can be addressed by using LVM RAID on a shared VG (I just need to check if RAID feature and shared VG can coexist)
* This would effectively double traffic usage because a write transaction to the RAID would result in two write transactions on the network, one for each LUN

I also thought about dropping iSCSI altogether and use #Ceph instead, but I am planning to have only 2 storage hosts and I believe Ceph needs at least 3 hosts...

First, it was cryptobros jacking up GPU prices. Now, it's jacking up prices.

This is why we can never have nice things.
