Honestly, #Debian is especially probably the best supported OS/Linux distro on this device. StarFive provides ready-to-use images for this board including the drivers and patches. It also works in a Desktop way but lacks hw accel (Vulcan). But this also means, you cannot just simply use the distro kernel to upgrade. OpenBSD finally seems to work from a CLI perspective (for server based things), FreeBSD loads from memory (no write back to SD), and so on. It's still a long way to go! Haven't had any look ad HaikuOS, unforutnaley can't say anything regarding this. Maybe I can have a look at it on the weekend. If you're into RISC, maybe you like to join our little chat in matrix:
