gyptazy.ch is now gyptazy.com

gyptazy.ch is now available at gyptazy.com:
For a long time, this project lived under the domain gyptazy.ch. It made sense back then – it felt local, connected to Switzerland, and it gave the project a clear identity. But as things slowly grew, I began to ask myself whether that domain still reflected what I wanted this space to be. The more I thought about it, the clearer it became: it didn’t.

The problem with .ch is that it carries a strong regional identity. Whenever someone sees it, the immediate association is Switzerland. That’s not wrong, but it also creates an expectation that the site is mainly relevant for a Swiss audience. Over time, however, I realized that my goals and ideas reached far beyond national borders. I wanted to make it clear that this platform is for anyone, anywhere.

That’s why I decided to move everything to gyptazy.com. A .com domain feels more neutral and universal. It’s the extension people all over the world recognize without hesitation. In fact, most people, when typing a domain by memory, will almost automatically add .com at the end. It’s a small detail, but it makes the project feel more accessible.

Switching to .com also reflects how I see this project developing. It started locally, but it has grown into something that doesn’t need to be tied to one country. With gyptazy.com, there’s room to grow without limitations, to connect with a wider audience, and to build a presence that feels global rather than local.

In the end, the move is about clarity and perspective. The new domain underlines that this isn’t just a Swiss project anymore – it’s something broader. For me, it’s a small but important milestone: a step from local roots toward a more international identity.

Also this blog is based on my own solution called manpageblog which is also available within the FreeBSD FreshPorts and packages. This site is also proud part of the 1MB club, a curated list of small, efficient but still useful websites.
